On Monday and Wednesday, I get out of class at noon, so I have a lot of time to do frivolous things. Today, my project was to make a Mudkip tote bag. I borrowed my roommate's camera to take a photo of it hanging off of the door, but that gives a fine impression of what it looks like.

The sprite that I used is from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, slightly modified on Paint, and I cross stitched it onto a tote bag using 8 count waste fabric. I don't know how well the heart buttons on the handles show up, but they are there.

Making bags like this is fun. :D I want to make another Pokemon one now!

Thank you! ^^ Charmander would be really cool! The day I had this, I had a lot of blue floss on hand, though, so Mudkip ended up being the victim. XD

Is there a special way to cross stitch freeform like this on regular fabric? I can only use Aida due to my skill.

I can't think of a way to cross stitch really freeform, but if you want to stitch on normal fabric or something like the tote bag, there's this stuff called waste fabric that shreds really easily, and if you get that and affix it to the normal fabric (I know that there's lots of ways to do it, but classy as I am, I used scotch tape on this), then you can stitch onto the waste fabric like it's Aida cloth and, when you're done, rip it out strand by strand, leaving you with the cross stitch on the standard fabric rather than on the Aida cloth. I know that it's not really free form stitching, but I hope that helps!

Thanks very much! It was pretty fun to make, and even though this is over a year old, I still have the bag out and ready to use.

Thank you! ^^ It's really strange- this only took me an afternoon to make, but it's the most popullar deviation in my gallery by a lot.
