XStitch Fanart- Fatal Fury Mai

Sometimes, you just want to stitch something subtle, with lovely pastel colors, a charming scene that would light up any room and warm any heart, and a strong attachment to the history of needlework, making you feel like you're a part of something larger. Also, there are times when you want to cross stitch a half-dressed ninja from a violent video game made in the early 90s. I happened to find myself in the latter category.

This is a cross stitch of Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury 2, since I was playing it with my sister and thought that her kimono looked fun to stitch. Plus, I'd just finished B. Jenet and like working with SNK fighting game sprites, since they're really detailed, which keeps them from being boring. Ash Crimson is next on the list, but for now, Mai's the one getting posted.

This was stitched on 14-count perforated plastic canvas with DMC embroidery floss.
